Beautiful restaurant. Beautiful setting. Interesting and tasty food. Pricy...$160 (including tip) for 4 people....2 appetizers and 2 glasses of wine, and 1 soda. No dessert. Very friendly waitstaff, but they got something wrong on 2 out of out 4 orders (no cheese in the cheeseburger, even though she asked me twice). No vegetables as requested in one dish. It took is 15 minutes to get the 2 glasses of wine. Not really sure I'll go back.

Fabulous quaint Inn. Staff couldn't be nicer. The room is very clean and comfortable. The food is the best I had in the Adirondacks. Menu is very interesting with many great options. They were using me as a trail for pets to stay at the Inn. It worked out great!

The Deershead Inn has long been an Adirondack institution associated with wholesome food and a warm atmosphere. Since 2016, the new ownership has managed the restaurant (and now lodging operation) with attention to detail and an emphasis on customer satisfaction. The menu is comprised of fresh ingredients which are procured from over a dozen local farms. Servers are equally attentive and courteous. And the dishes are expertly prepared; only without the pretentiousness usually associated with food that tastes as good as it does here. Stop is and see what all the fuss is about!

Very nice eatery, modern bistro food, updated but rustic setting. A pleasant surprise to find in a small town in upstate New York. Wish every town has one. The pool table looked sweet but didn't get to use it. I would definitely go back.

Our stay was the result of a desperate late-night search for lodging as we were returning to North Carolina from Canada. We found these fine folks at about 8:30 pm and the restaurant was closing in 30 minutes. But mostly, we wanted a place to rest our heads overnight. The first person we asked about a room was actually a customer but she said it was doubtful that the establishment was offering rooms due to a remodeling effort. But a waiter brought the owner, Aaron Woolf, out and he turned out to be our saving grace. First, he showed us all of the unique and wonderfully furnished rooms, plus the library and gave us some of the history. He then topped it off with having his chef prepare us a meal even through he was all but shut down for the evening. The chef did a magnificent job as my wife and I were scrupulously able to satisfy our palets . The room, the cuisine, and the service could not be beat anywhere.
